Common name: None.
Distribution: Costa Rica to Colombia and Bolivia.
Habitat: Epiphytic in premontane rain forest to cloud forest, in both primary and disturbed primary forests at elevations of 1500 to 2600 meters.
Etymology: Lepanthes, from the Greek lepis, "scale", and anthos, “flower”, in allusion to the diminutive size of the flowers; elata from the latin elatus, "tall", in allusion to the large size of the plant.
Note: It is the tallest Lepanthes species in Costa Rica.
Nombre común: Ninguno.

Hábitat: Epífita en bosques lluviosos premontanos a bosques nubosos, tanto en bosques primarios como perturbados, a elevaciones de 1500 a 2600 metros.
Etimología: Lepanthes, de las palabras griegas lepis, “escama”, y anthos, “flor”, en alusión al tamaño diminuto de las flores; elata del latín elatus, "alto", en alusión al gran tamaño de la planta.
Nota: Es la especie de Lepanthes de mayor tamaño en Costa Rica.
